Terms of Service

What you agree to when using the auggy app

These terms govern your subscription to and use of auggy at www.auggy.app. They do not govern consulting, advisory, or project work delivered by Augmentative Limited. Those engagements are covered by separate Consulting and Advisory Terms and a project-specific Statement of Work. By registering and using auggy, you confirm you have read and agree to them.

1. Who we are

auggy is a software product built and operated by Augmentative Limited, a company registered in England and Wales. Augmentative Limited also provides consulting and advisory services to organisations. Those services are governed by separate terms. These Terms of Service apply only to the auggy app.

2. What auggy is — and what it is not

2.1 What auggy does

auggy is a business advisory tool that helps leaders in small and growing organisations make better decisions by assessing their culture, structure, capability, roles, and strategy in relation to their mission. It is designed for people doing important work who do not have dedicated OD or HR expertise in-house.

When you use auggy, you provide information about your organisation — through module inputs, your organisation profile, and documents you choose to upload. auggy analyses that information and returns structured outputs: findings, patterns, recommendations, and prompts for your thinking.

2.2 How the analysis works

auggy's analysis is not generic AI output. It is produced by passing your inputs through proprietary analytical frameworks designed by Augmentative Limited — frameworks built on established organisational development practice. The AI processes your data within those frameworks; the frameworks determine what the AI looks for, how it interprets signals, and how it structures the output. The frameworks themselves are intellectual property of Augmentative Limited. Using auggy does not give you any rights in the frameworks — see Section 6 for details.

2.3 How AI is used — and what data is sent where

auggy uses the Anthropic Claude API to process module inputs and generate analysis. It is important to be clear about what is and is not sent to Anthropic:

  • Your account credentials (email address, display name, hashed password) are held in auggy's secure database. They are never sent to Anthropic.
  • Your organisation profile (name, type, size, sector, and descriptive fields) is held in auggy's secure database. It is used internally to contextualise analysis but is not transmitted to Anthropic independently.
  • The content you enter into a specific module request — your responses to analysis prompts, any relevant profile context needed to complete that request, and any document text you have uploaded that is relevant to the run — is sent to the Anthropic API at the moment you submit that request, to generate the output.
  • Anthropic does not retain this data for training purposes under its standard API agreement. The data is processed and the output is returned. It is not stored by Anthropic or used to improve any model.

auggy's database — which holds your account data, organisation profile, historical runs, and results — is hosted on Supabase, with infrastructure located in the EU West region (Ireland). Your data does not leave the EU except when it is sent to the Anthropic API for processing as described above. Full details of how auggy handles your data are in the auggy Privacy Policy at www.auggy.app/privacy, which forms part of these terms.

2.4 What auggy is not

auggy is a decision-support tool. It is not:

  • A substitute for qualified legal, employment law, or HR advice
  • A substitute for professional financial or strategic advice
  • Authoritative guidance on any regulated matter
  • A replacement for your own judgement as a leader

auggy's outputs are generated based on what you tell it. The quality of analysis depends on the quality and completeness of the information you provide. auggy cannot verify the accuracy of what you share, and its outputs should be treated as structured prompts for your thinking — not definitive conclusions.

3. Your account

3.1 Account data

To create an auggy account, you provide:

  • A valid email address — used to identify your account, send important service communications, and for account recovery
  • A display name — a name or identifier of your choosing, which appears within the auggy interface to identify your actions and to distinguish you from other users in your organisation
  • A password — stored in hashed form; auggy does not hold your password in readable form

Your display name is visible within the auggy interface. Choose something appropriate — see Section 3.3 on acceptable use of display names.

What we collect at signupEmail address, display name, hashed password
What is never collectedPayment card details at signup; government ID; sensitive personal data about you as an individual

3.2 Account eligibility

  • You must be 18 or older to create an account
  • You must have authority to agree to these terms on behalf of any organisation you represent
  • One account corresponds to one user — accounts are personal and not transferable

3.3 Acceptable use of display names

Your display name must not:

  • Impersonate another person, organisation, or auggy itself
  • Contain offensive, discriminatory, or harassing language
  • Misrepresent your identity or organisational affiliation

auggy reserves the right to require you to change a display name that violates these requirements.

3.4 Keeping your account secure

  • You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure
  • You must notify us immediately at HQ@auggy.app if you believe your account has been compromised
  • auggy is not liable for losses arising from unauthorised access to your account where you have not kept your credentials secure

3.5 Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these terms, if we have reason to believe your use is causing harm to others, or if required by applicable law. We will give you reasonable notice where practical, except where immediate action is necessary to protect the service or other users. You may close your account at any time. Account closure and data deletion are covered in the auggy Data Retention Policy at www.auggy.app/privacy.

4. Acceptable use

You agree to use auggy only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these terms. You must not:

  • Upload content you do not have the right to share, including confidential documents belonging to third parties
  • Attempt to access, probe, or interfere with another user's or organisation's data
  • Attempt to circumvent auggy's security measures or access controls
  • Use auggy to process Special Category Data as defined under UK GDPR (Article 9) — including health data, criminal records, biometric data, trade union membership — without our prior written agreement
  • Use auggy in a way that violates the rights of individuals, including the people described in data you enter
  • Use auggy to generate content intended to harm, discriminate against, or harass any individual or group
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, extract, or replicate auggy's analytical frameworks

auggy is designed to work with organisational data — roles, functions, structures, culture patterns, and strategic questions. It is not designed to process personal data about identifiable individuals. auggy actively guides users toward role-level and functional analysis rather than analysis of named people. You are responsible for the data you choose to enter.

5. Your data

5.1 You own your data

You retain ownership of all data you input into auggy — organisation descriptions, module responses, uploaded documents, and any other content you provide. Augmentative Limited does not claim any ownership rights over your content.

5.2 Licence to process

By using auggy, you grant Augmentative Limited a limited, non-exclusive licence to process the data you provide for the sole purpose of delivering the auggy service to you. This means storing your data in auggy's database, passing relevant inputs to the Anthropic API to generate analysis, and returning outputs to you. This licence ends when you delete your data or close your account. We do not use your data for any purpose beyond operating the service.

5.3 No model training

auggy does not use your data to train, fine-tune, or improve any AI model — whether Anthropic's or its own. Your data is not shared between customers or aggregated across accounts for any AI-related purpose. This commitment applies to all data you provide: account data, organisation profile, module inputs, and uploaded documents.

5.4 No cross-organisation data sharing

Your organisation's data is isolated from all other organisations using auggy. Row-level security controls in auggy's database ensure no other user can access your data. auggy staff access to production data is limited and logged.

5.5 Your responsibility for data you upload

If you upload documents or enter information that contains personal data about identifiable individuals — including your staff, volunteers, or service users — you are responsible for ensuring you have a lawful basis to share that information with auggy under applicable data protection law.

Where your use of auggy involves processing personal data on behalf of your organisation, you are the data controller and Augmentative Limited acts as your data processor. This relationship is governed by the auggy Data Processing Agreement, which forms part of these terms and is available at www.auggy.app/privacy.

6. Intellectual property

6.1 auggy's platform and frameworks

The following are owned exclusively by Augmentative Limited and are protected by applicable intellectual property law:

  • The auggy software, application, and user interface
  • The analytical frameworks through which auggy processes your inputs — including the dimension models, scoring approaches, prompt structures, and output formats used in each module
  • The system prompts, logic, and configuration that govern how the Anthropic API is applied within auggy
  • auggy's brand, name, visual identity, and design

Using auggy does not give you any rights in any of the above. You may not copy, reverse-engineer, replicate, or attempt to extract auggy's frameworks or analytical logic, whether through systematic use of the product, API access, or any other means.

6.2 Your outputs

The analysis outputs auggy generates in response to your inputs belong to you. You may use, share, adapt, and build on them freely within your organisation and with third parties, subject to appropriate attribution where auggy is identified as the source.

Note that outputs are generated by applying auggy's proprietary frameworks to your specific inputs. The frameworks remain auggy's property; the specific output produced for your organisation is yours.

7. Payment and subscription

auggy may be accessed through free, trial, and paid subscription tiers. These terms apply to all tiers. Where a paid subscription is in place:

  • You authorise Augmentative Limited to charge the subscription fee at the stated interval using the payment method you provide
  • Subscription fees are stated exclusive of VAT where applicable
  • Fees are non-refundable except where required by consumer protection law or where auggy fails to deliver the service as described
  • We will give at least 30 days' written notice of any price change affecting your existing subscription
  • Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you retain access until that date

Current pricing and tier details are displayed in the auggy application and at www.auggy.app. During any free trial period, these terms apply in full.

8. Availability and changes to the service

Augmentative Limited will make reasonable efforts to keep auggy available and operational. However:

  • We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability — the service may be unavailable during maintenance, updates, or due to circumstances outside our control
  • We may add, modify, or remove features over time. We will give reasonable notice of material changes that affect how you use the service
  • We may update these terms. Material changes will be communicated by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Your continued use after that date constitutes acceptance. If you do not accept the changes, you may close your account before the effective date

9. Limitation of liability

These terms govern the auggy app subscription only. Liability in relation to consulting or advisory work by Augmentative Limited is governed by separate consulting terms. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

  • auggy is provided as a decision-support tool. We make no warranty that it will produce accurate results in every case or that its outputs are suitable for any particular decision
  • We are not liable for any loss arising from your reliance on auggy's outputs without independent verification or professional advice where appropriate
  • We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or special losses, including loss of revenue, loss of opportunity, or reputational damage
  • Our total liability to you arising from or in connection with your use of the auggy app in any 12-month period is limited to the total fees you paid to us for the app in that period, or £100 if the service was provided free of charge

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for: fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; death or personal injury caused by our negligence; or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

10. Consulting and advisory services

Augmentative Limited provides consulting and advisory services to organisations separately from the auggy app subscription. These include organisational design work, leadership support, and strategic people advisory.

These Terms of Service do not govern consulting or advisory engagements. If you engage Augmentative Limited for consulting work:

  • That engagement will be governed by Augmentative Limited's Consulting and Advisory Terms, which are provided separately
  • A Statement of Work will be agreed for each project, setting out scope, deliverables, fees, and timeline
  • Liability for consulting work, including any professional indemnity cover, is addressed in the Consulting and Advisory Terms — not in these app terms

The fact that you are an auggy app subscriber does not automatically entitle you to consulting services, and vice versa. The two relationships are independent.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from or in connection with these terms or your use of the auggy app will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

If you are a consumer (using auggy in a personal capacity rather than for business purposes), you may also have rights under the consumer protection laws of your country of residence, which these terms do not affect.

12. General provisions

12.1 Entire agreement

These terms, together with the auggy Privacy Policy and Data Processing Agreement (both available at www.auggy.app/privacy), constitute the entire agreement between you and Augmentative Limited in relation to the auggy app subscription. They supersede any prior representations or agreements.

12.2 Severability

If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force.

12.3 Waiver

A failure by Augmentative Limited to enforce any provision of these terms does not constitute a waiver of the right to enforce it in future.

12.4 Assignment

You may not assign your rights under these terms without our written consent. Augmentative Limited may assign these terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or substantially all of its assets, provided your rights as a user are not materially diminished.
